Youth Group Leader @ Broadwater Farm  Mr. Olu Shobowale

I can’t recommend Kelvin and his team highly enough. They were punctual, friendly and knowledgeable.

I contacted Kelvin in early 2014 because I had previously asked him if he could give some members of my Youth Club some training in film making. Rarts came to us on a busy Friday evening at the Club with film editing equipment, which they set up in the corner of our club hall. After a while a few of our boys at the club showed a keen interest. Kelvin and his team put them at ease and were able to guide them through the straight forward training and explained the principals well.

The boys who first took part had not been given the opportunity in the past to edit film so found the process engaging. Some of the boys had told me they had enjoyed having the opportunity to learn a new skill while at the Club.

It is good to know that a skilled professional like Kelvin is so willing to meet young people in their own territory and offer such a significant and challenging service.

Since learning how to use it, I’ve been inspired to pursue a few projects with the ability and know-how of applying my vision to create a successful project” Kieran A. [16 years] started as a student on a Rejuvenate Arts short course and now helps tutor students, helps organise events and outreaches that we run in the community. Kiren has the credits of several creative videos since the course in January/February.

“I came to appreciate motion pictures when I learnt how to combine pictures to create a motion picture film. I got to engage one-to-one with the tutor who was keen in leading me to visualising the concept and actually putting it into practise. It has been helpful because I am in a graphic design class and it has empowered me to carry on and learn more. I highly recommend the class for anyone.” Cyrus N. [17 years] started as a student with Rejuvenate Arts and is now helping to arrange our outreaches. He is also responsible for designing the Rejuvenate Arts logo.

During my time at rejuvenate arts, since I completed the six week course I have been able to carry on learning as well as taking parts in events. We have done multiple things that have not only helped others but have helped me. I have also been apart of completing projects. I am also looking for to take part in the upcoming projects that will take place. The tasks motivate me to keep going further and not to turn back. I am extremely thankful for our group as even though we learnt the skills, we were all able to have such great fun.  Sara. A [16 years].

“The course was engaging and well taught. I came having little knowledge of video and filming since my creative media course in college is design-related. The course equipped me and developed my creative skills. The tutor made the course exciting. I would recommend this course to everyone.” Moses W. [17 years] started off as a student on one of the Rejuvenate Arts courses and is now giving back through helping to tutor other students and organising new outreaches for the community.

orselI always loved art and design and looked at ways to empower myself with creativity. During the Broadmead/Orchard estate media course I gathered what I needed for my passion and I learnt a lot. Before the sessions I always made non professional videos but after the course I have developed an eye for perfection and minded design with Adobe’s Premier Pro (video editor). I would recommend anyone and everyone to participate and get what it takes to be best at what you like! Orsel M. 18 years.
